Why Wallshell
For over 21 years, WALLSHELL has focused on delivering dependable WPC solutions with the quality, selection, and support real projects need. From locally stocked products and a showroom you can visit to hands-on guidance from our team, we make it easier to choose materials with confidence and bring your project from idea to installation.
WPC, or Wood-Plastic Composite, is an engineered material made by combining wood fibers or wood flour with thermoplastic polymers and performance additives. Common thermoplastics used in WPC include polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and PVC. During manufacturing, these materials are blended and formed—most commonly through extrusion—into precisely controlled profiles for architectural applications such as cladding, decking, fencing, and gates. The exact properties of a WPC product depend on its formulation, additives, profile design, and manufacturing process, allowing the material to be engineered for specific applications and environmental conditions.
The result is a material designed to balance the natural character of wood fibers with the consistency and versatility of a manufactured composite. WPC is commonly used for decking, cladding, fencing, and other exterior building applications, with performance depending on the formulation, profile design, and manufacturing process. Research shows that WPC generally absorbs moisture more slowly than solid wood, while modern formulations and capped surfaces can further improve moisture and weathering performance. WALLSHELL’s tested WPC cladding, for example, recorded an average 2.34% water absorption after 28 days of immersion and showed no visible chalking after 2,000 hours of artificial weathering in Intertek testing.
